FUNDRAISING TIME

I hate fundraising, but we all have to do it.

We are actively seeking sponsors right now.

I made up letters for all the girls to take and give out.

Any amount from $ 5 to $500 VIP Seating next to Coach with non alcholic beverages at every game.

Each girl only has to give out 5.

Five that's it.

Try our best at this.

Then we will do a pancake breakfast at AppleBees.

We needs new uniforms, some girls need help with dues and field fees.

Back to Business

Break is over. Well for the players break is over. I never had one as manager.

I made out checks and registered our team for a upcoming tournament and our league season.

Girl Child didn't get a break either. I still had her go every Wednesday to Goalkeeping training.

We have a tournament August 15 and 16th and she can't get rusty. We are so lucky, one of girl childs past elementary teachers was a goalkeeper for Cal State North Ridge; and she is training our girls for FREE! She won't take any compensation either. Will have to put my thinking skills together and come up with a super nice gift.

In California they charge $10 per hour per player. So it can add up quickly. We have 2 keepers and 2 back up keepers. So we train 4 keepers. Yeah we are saving a ton. At least $40 a week.

The girls love her. They have had other trainers and have not had this quality of training.

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS !!!!!!!!

WE WON IT!

I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE IT!

OUR FIRST TOURNAMENT AS A CLUB TEAM

AND WE WON IT!

Game 3

It was hot. Our game was at 11:00. The score 3-0. Another shutout. Great game.

Game 4

It was even Hotter. This game was at 2:00. The score 2-1. The only goal anyone scored on us. It was a great shot high and hot. No way girl child could stop it even though she said she got one finger tip on it. She even said that girl was good. As they lovingly referred to her as #6.

It got a little emotional for me as our head coach said to me, Jackie you know in all the years I played I have never won a championship.

This wonderful man, played all through his youth, high school and college without a championship. Then has been coaching his children for the past 10 years in AYSO before taking his daughter to the next level.

Yeah you just never know when you get your rewards and how good they are gonna feel!

Day One of the Tournament

We are playing a Round Robin Tournament. So far we won game 1 with a score of 2-0 and it gave us 9 points. Girl child scored a goal. She was so stoked.

She went through one whole AYSO season once without one cause all she played was defender or goal keeper. Then in her very first Club game ever she scores a goal. How cool is that, then they win it.

First off it was at 8:00 am. Why is I always get the early ones. Dang I had to get up at 5:30 to be there on time.

Then we had our 2nd game at 11:00. We won that one too. 1-0. We got 8 points so we have a total of 17 points going into tomorrow.

We have 2 more games 1 at 11:00 and 1 at 2:00 and the team with the most points wins.

And hopefully that's us.

Soccer Podcast

The Trainer we had as I mentioned is an ODP(Olympic) Coach. He also has a Professional Podcast he does every week.

I just set it up on my I Pod. Ready? LOL.

Billy Big Time and the Brain

Yeah doesn't sound like any soccer podcast that I would listen too. You have to tune in.

Joey is the funniest coach I have ever heard. I learned so much about professional soccer and his personal opinions of how he would change things if he could.

He happens to hold a A license. So he can coach professionals like our Olympians.
Dude has skills.

Him and that One Premier soccer stud were heading back in forth and using their shoulders I have only seen that with the pros.

I learned much more in the relaxed class he provided and terms I totally understood.

Joey - you are the bomb!

Our First Tournament

We are about to do our first tournament. Funds are low. So we numbered one set of our practice T-shirts, and bought some purple pinny's in case conflict. Showed those to girls yesterday they loved them.

I got some fundraising in works for new uniforms during league play.

I can't believe it's already time for our first tournament. All this hard work is finally paying off. I have been working so hard with registering, board meeting after board meeting, organizing our team finances.

We are ready. Bring it On!

I did it!

Sorry for not posting in so long but it has been really crazy at work and with soccer.

But, I did it. Actually we passed. My hubster passed too. It was a lot of fun. It turned out our trainer was the Olympic Development Program Coach Joey Hoffman. He is from Liverpool so I totally enjoyed listening to him talk the whole time. Plus he was a total kick in the pants kind of guy.

Our class was huge, 35 coaches showed up. So as luck would have it I would not have to get on the field too much as he only needed 12 to 15 to demonstrate drills. Bummer. So I took a lot of notes.

My hubster was not so lucky. Thou he says he likes to learn that way, whatever. He kept getting paired up with a soccer stud that was a coach a ONE PREMIER soccer camp my girl child went to. This guy showed up in flip flops and forgot his boots so he played bare foot and still made everyone look like they were standing still. Except for this one girl that just graduated from Northridge she dribbled the ball right thru his legs it was so cool.

We went to class on Saturday from 8 to 6 and had a take home test, open book. OK, we have kids so we didn't finish the test till almost 1:45 am. Then got up early and went back to class at 8 . Talk about dragging butt. We got out at like 2:00.

It took me a whole week to catch up on sleep. I am not spring chicken anymore. I felt like yucka all week then had major allergies attacks so that's why I have not been posting.

Yeah for us, we went from one E license Coach to Three E license Coaches!

It's almost time

Yep the time is near.

I take the test on Saturday. I have never been so nervous before. Well I have never taken a coaching class before either.

Yikes! There is still only 1 woman in the class. Pass / Fail. I so don't like failing.

I don't like failing. I won't fail. I won't fail. I won't fail. I better not fail. I have totally been

killing myself getting fit. All of the sudden I look slim in my sweats. Well enough that they bag around my tummy. That feels good.

I have been taking a new medicine that makes all soda taste crummy. That's a bonus. That alone probably made me lose some inches.

Have I mentioned how much I hate alfalfa it makes me cough and wheeze and hack. It gives

me the worse hay fever ever. I have tried everything. Netipot. Claritin. Advil Cold and Sinus. Off brand this or that. I just have to wait it out till it's all baled and sent away.

Some yahoo planted it down the street from my office this year. Just dandy. So during harvesting season I will be miserable just like I was when I was a kid. That is why I don't live in the Fresno valley any more! This is the Coast people. DON'T GROW IT HERE! Normally I don't have to deal with it but just once a year.

THE FIRST WEEK OF MARCH WHEN I GO TO VEGAS WHEN I DRIVE THRU BAKERSFIELD.

So now I have to run around a Pitch sweating worrying about passing a test with people half my age, being barely able to breathe to begin with. BUT NOW I HAVE HAY FEVER TOO!

GREAT! I KNOW AGSOCCERMOM SUCK IT UP....I WILL DARN TOOTIN' CUZ I PAID $85.00 TO TAKE THE DANG CLASS. Oh sorry forgot I was yellin'. The team will reimburse me but I get a free t-shirt. Now That's a Bonus.
